    Default Ionic Conductors

pretty important "proof of concept" happened recently: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases...0829145017.htm

Some folks at Harvard were able to successfully use ionic conduction to generate wide spectrum sound. Unless you are a science dork like me, you probably don't care as much about the how as much as the "who cares?"

This is one of the things that people have been working on because the human body uses ionic conduction. What success means is that we are one step closer to bio-compatible implanted prosthetic. OK...maybe that's too dorky? Remember in "I Robot" the Will Smith character had the robot arm? That is the sort of thing that this is a step towards. For us old folks, think "Six Million Dollar Man."
