Question Air Force Proselytizing Under the Guise of "Spiritual Health"

The other day in another thread, I said I have never had anyone push religion on me in all my years of service. Well, that has changed. Not only was it pushed, it was a mandatory unit event.

This 'Spiritual Health' thing has been a buzz term as part of the various aspects of individual health and wellness but it just got taken to a whole new level. In years past it has been just that...a buzz term you heard about in passing or something.

Apparently now there are classes/briefings (mandatory for wingman day) for Spiritual Health. They tried to say it has nothing to do with religion but it's ran by a chaplain who constantly referenced God, Heaven, the soul and more. And every definition of spiritual I can find is associated with religion or other sacred or supernatural beings.

    Anyone else seen this?

Never really heard of it during my time but it's no longer the same AF. We didn't have "resiliency" or "wingmen" because back then people were treated like adults and professionals, pretty much. But now today's AF runs scared of everything so they treat the troops like idiotic children. I'd suggest contacting the IG if you believe this is impinging on your rights not to be prosletyzed.

This is far different than the crybabies who claim a "moment of silence" at a Change of Command hurts their sensitivities. This is a honest affront to one's rights. Mandatory? Good one. I would have taken that issue (and my LOR/whatever) to whomever in my chain of command or base agency who is looking to thump a few skulls for this kind of thing.

Before the event, legal said it was a conflict of interest to tell me if it was legal or not....

All the more reason to see the IG. That sounds like utter bullshit to me.
