    Default Back to Benghazi

During Rose Garden press conference, Obama refuses to apologize for secretly seizing AP phone records, shifts blame to Congress for Benghazi security lapses, and dodges question about White House IRS knowledge

-Assailed by questions over three scanadals engulfing White House during Rose Garden press conference with Turkish Prime Minister
-Would not say whether anyone in his West Wing knew about the IRS targeting of the Tea Party before last week
-Offered 'no apologies' for DoJ secretly seizing phone records of Associated Press reporters over intelligence leak
-Admitted 'lessons needed to be learned' from Benghazi but said it was up to Congress to approve more money for military to provide extra security in hotspots abroad.

ARB hearings: Oct. 10, 2012 hearing: QUESTION: It has been suggested that budget cuts were responsible for a lack of security in Benghazi. And I'd like to ask Ms. Lamb, you made this decision personally. Was there any budget consideration and lack of budget which led you not to increase the number of people in the security force there?

DEPUTY ASSISTANT SECRETARY OF STATE CHARLENE LAMB: No, sir.

She added: “This was an unprecedented attack in size.” Asked again about budget issues, Lamb said: “Sir, if it’s a volatile situation, we will move assets to cover that.”

May 8, 2013 hearing: QUESTION: Mr. Nordstrom, you were on that panel. Do you remember what she [Lamb] said?

REGIONAL SECURITY OFFICER ERIC NORDSTROM: Yes, she said that resources was not an issue. And I think I would also point to the ARB report, if I'm not mistaken, that they talked to our chief financial officer with D.S. [Diplomatic Security], who also said that resources were not an issue.
So not only does this guy not know what's going on in any of the Departments of the Executive Branch he runs, when people under his branch of government f-up, who does he blame? The Legislative Branch...or to narrow it down more specifically, the House. To narrow it down even further, House Republicans.

Just like the State Department, Hillary Clinton doesn't know what going on and in the Justice Department, the Attorney General doesn't know what's going on. The Buck Stops Where???

That's hilarious...this one was good too: (you know's it bad when the liberals are hating on other liberals)

My favorite part is the Senior Official at the IRS stating she's not good at math.

That one is great too. John Stewart has been all over this and it's hilarious. Obama is keeping him stocked plenty of material. Don't want to file your taxes? Just apologize.

The amount of hypocrisy shown by the right on this matter is staggering. That being said, yes it was a tragedy. Turning it into a witch hunt wont solve anything. Fix the problem to keep it from happening again. Both sides share equal blame in this as it was the failure of both sides to pass a proper budget. No budgets mean cuts are made. Those cuts directly impacted the security lapses that led to the Benghazi tragedy.

Ummm, no. The SENATE failed to pass a budget and that can be 100% attributed to Harry Reid. The House did its duty and passed a budget each and every year.

And since it appears that you didn't bother to read what was posted, the Deputy Assistant Secretary of State, the one who was responsible for making these decisions, testified that money was NOT an issue in this, so I have no idea how you are making the assertion that both sides are to blame.

Here, let me post it for you again...

And the attempted cover-up by the State Department is 100% on them.
