If you volunteered, it should really make no difference to you one way or the other.

Bull. Just cause i want women to have to be held to the same requirements as men, does NOT mean i am 'abdicating my responsibilities'..
Oh, in fact, it does. The draft, as it's set up now, acknowledges the difference between men and women. Most importantly - and it's something that I know you can't accept - is the expendability of men when it comes to preserving the human race, or any other species of mammal for that matter.

The more expendable sex was given the greater physical strength for a reason... we're tasked with protecting the females and the young.

Yep...as shocking as it may be, I still like to recognize the differences between men and women.

Sometimes recognizing it is harder than others ... this one time I was in New Orlea...... forget it.

Man, I would love to have a feminist on the forum right now. Atheist/evolutionist vs feminist. Those are some fun battles. Saw a great video on youtube about how you can explain humans desire for sugar, fats, and salts because of an evolutionary trait that got bread into the majority of the gene pool and people will accept that as a reason for our obesity epidemic. But if you bring up this part about humans (most mammals really) are instinctually driven as men or women to provide certain gender roles as a genetic evolutionary trait, everyone loses their minds. I think the channel is TL;DR (teal dear) if you want to look him up.
Progressivism; such great ideas, they need to force you to follow them.

That is why I stated I just realized it's not law yet and misspoke. It's right above your comment.

Why would they? Mainly women have been saying "Yeah change the law" and I've seen mostly men - on other forums - saying "No I don't want my daughters forced to die or fight." I don't think any feminists would have an issue with this.

If we have to resort to using the draft, pretty sure shit has hit the fan and this country is fucked. If we can't support a conflict or war with our volunteer military something is seriously wrong.

The draft applies to us because, as men, we're supposed to protect women and children. Now, we're eager abandon that and force women to fight in order to decrease the likelihood of a man having to step the fuck up and assume his responsibilities.
So many men are applauding it? This is the only forum I've seen men applaud this. Even Congressman Hunter - who authored the bill - is against this. He was trying to get discussion to reverse the policy that opened up all jobs to women. It backfired on him horribly.

Men don't protect women in this country. I get so tired of hearing how men are taught to protect women yet we have all these instances of domestic violence. (Yes I know men are victims of domestic violence too). But don't tell me that men are taught to protect women. If they are, they didn't listen or failed that lesson horribly.

There is no reason why women can't be drafted. Men who were drafted in the past didn't all fill combat roles. So not all women would fill combat roles. I find it pretty fucked that men who don't register will face severe penalties and women don't have to. Either they need to get rid of it or make everyone sign up. They probably should just get rid of it again. It's not necessary. If we truly needed a draft someday, we could easily start it without the Selective Service in place.

How the hell does feminism "feminize" men?

Right...so why bother making women register? It serves no purpose other than to be PC.

He didn't say anything about volunteering - he asked why it's okay for men to be drafted to go fight and die and not women. Not about men and women who volunteer.

The draft as its set up now is ONLY set up this way because of the combat exclusion policy. That is the ONLY reason we never had to sign up. Now that it's gone, there's no reason to exclude us.

Expendability of men? Really? Smh...wow. I would love to know where you come up with this stuff.
