All evidence points to ISIS/CIA in the recent Russian plane tragedy over Egypt.

ISIS/CIA plus a Russian Crew Flying a Scarebus is never a good mix.

If ISIS really did pull that off, I'm pretty impressed. However... I don't think ISIS has the weaponry to reach a passenger plane at cruising altitude.

The War on Terrorism has drained us. When you're fighting a stateless enemy and there's no way to determine and define victory (eg, you think you've won in ten days but you end up being there for ten years)... it tends to do that to you.

Watching it happen to Russia for a change is... pretty nice.

    Rusty,

WW2 wasn't exactly a showpiece for restraint, on either side. Back then, when the US went into a war, the use of overwhelming force was used, time and again, by either side, and there was massive 'collateral damage', until the end.

Now? It seems that there is no way that we can exact a war, without worrying about free fire zones, or the lack thereof. This nation has become so paralyzed by the fear of not being popular to the entire rest of the world.

Korea? That war has never really ended. Vietnam? We won every major battle, but pulled out largely because of the political scene here. Lots of protesters, yes, but the political animal was afraid of not being revoted in.

On and on. Grenada? Yeah, I guess that we showed them there Cubans! Panama? We got Noriega. The Cold War? We won. For now, kind of. Iraq, back in the 90s? We won. Except there was no change in the head of state, over there.

If the USA wants to go to war, without the shackles of not wanting to hurt our image, here and abroad? That still raises it's ugly head.

Maybe good. Maybe bad. If we want to win a war, big time, we have to go into a war, big time. Until the end of those wars. We can't just say that our effort was exemplary, and that we showed the terrorists who is boss. Because they still don't believe us.

I think that in the future, our gov't must decide beforehand, whether we want to get into a war, or if we are just going there, for a show of effort. Either win, or stay home. The dividing line of victory, or a show of force, then us leaving? Either we go in and win, or we don't get involved, in the first place.

Now I have to go. There is someone from ISIS at the door. She looks like an Avon Lady, but she can't fool me!

Excellent insights and comments, Unca. Arms makers love unending wars because it keeps the profits coming in and I think these days it all comes down to $$$ even when fighting wars. I suspect most in the military would agree with your views. The people at the top though who run the show are an entirely different animal. Reminds me a lot of top ranked college sports teams who have "light schedules." More often than not when they come up against a REAL opponent, they fold and show their true colors. Kind of like how the US has been the last couple of decades. Unfortunately, our adversaries are seeing us now as weak and that emboldens them.
Nice close to your comments lol

But, I coulda swore, that the man on the Teevee told me that Russia wasn't even bombing "ISIS"? I thought they were only targeting the "Good" Rebels ?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2015/10/01/wo...yria.html?_r=0

So, then what would be the point in "ISIS" shooting down a plane full of Russian Civilians?

That is unless of course, They're lying to us again and the Russians are actually kicking ISIS asses and not just pussy footing around dropping pallets full of Nike tennis shoes into the middle of the fucking desert (like we have for the last year and a half)
