    Creative punishment

I loved this idea. The father said he had exhausted all other option (other than spanking). I guess parents are damned if they do, damned if they don't.

Kind of a brilliant idea. I do wonder about the effectiveness on a 4-year old. My daughter is 4, and about 2 hours after the fact she would likely not give a crap.

Probably true...though the child might think twice next time. It just annoyed me with the mother's reaction and the fact that they say the child was "humiliated". As you said, it's a 4 year old and most likely won't care 2 hours after.

I guess the dad could have whipped him with a switch...

Just my hunch, the mom's issue may be rooted in whatever has her and the dad no longer together. She ref'd the dad having had 'issues' of his own in his past. This may be a way for her revisit the visitation or inflict a little pain on the dad.

Sounds like a story i saw where a school is being sued by a parent for making a kid wear a baggy shirt saying "Dress code violation" in clear bold letters on it, cause she DID violate the school's code.
Or like those cases where judges have had those arrested for DUI's having to walk by the road side wearing a billboard stating who they are and what they did.
TO me these sort of punishments should be MORE common place, not less.
