I bet if they stop spending $150/gal for algie derived jet fuel and went to the $2.88/gallon jet fuel from regular sources, we could find the money for PCSs again. But hey, the ecofacists have the left and Obama in power so they will milk it for all its worth. And they said Bush was corrupted my comercial fuel businesses.

It hasn't been officialy released but it's all over social media so there must be some truth to it. I can see peeps at Hurby, Patrick, and the other hot spots jumping up for joy while those at Minot are on suicide watch.

I am currently a civil servant at a FOA. When I first saw a similar message on the 'net, but could find no sign of it through official channels, I asked our CMSgt about it.

He asked AFPC, and they said:
The message which is in the wild was a draft that AFPC decided NOT to send. A speciifc officer career field manager chose to share that draft with the officers he is responsible to manage, in violation of the AFPC internal guidance about the draft message.

There is nothing official in that message, and none of the possible changes mentioned in it have been approved or scheduled for implementation.
That being said, somebody else told me that they got to review the draft changes to the AFI covering PCSs, and much of the same changes are in that proposed update.

So, I interpret this combination as: Nothing has changed, YET, but changes are coming and those changes are going to be focused on reducing the number of times people move during their careers, as a cost saving measure for the USAF.

Back from the bit bucket. Somebody flushed the buffers on me, though . . ..

There are people at "desirable" bases that hate it there too. I was at Hurby and met lots of people that were unsatisfied, and heard tons of people say that Minot "isnt as bad as people think". I even met a dude from Cannon that was there for like 12 years and said he loved it. Im sure he was an anomoly though.

I heard a pretty similar story. I thought I also heard that we have a good chance at seeing a change before 1 October, which also happens to be the beginning of the fiscal year.

If they do go with the proposed changes for folks in Code 50 slots, that will be pretty interesting. I think I'd prefer that people in those positions would be grandfathered, and the change would only apply to folks that receive orders after the change, but that's probably not the way it would work out.

All that said, nothing is official other than the fact that we know we need to find ways to save some dollars, so similar changes seem believable.

It's those damn officers that cost the most money by moving them every 2 years. They should have no problem exetending me overseas then when the time comes.

No money for PCS...how about we cut....

    1. Staff Cars (No need for them, the General can afford gas prices where they are).
    2. Most General Officers....not needed especially if they have to create a position for you 50% across all services.
    3. Stop buying broke ass F35's and swearing up and down that it's the future.
    4. Also link to number 3 how about whoever develops these weapons NOT get paid until functionality has been verified.

I can come up with more, but how about we start with those, we'll save some money and people can PCS again. O btw yes people will love "Bad" places and others will hate "Good" places. I for example have been trying to GTFO of Eglin for awhile now and have finally succeeded after 5 years. I've also heard Minot isn't bad from one person....it's what you make of it and remember the shop itself will make a bad assignment awesome or a great assignment unbearable.
