Why no dental for retirees, but medical ok?

I find it strange as a retiree i can just pop to the local mil base's medical, and be seen for any issues i have, but unless i am bleeding/in pain, i can't do the same for base dental?

On Lejeune, even active duty members need to schedule an appointment weeks or even months in advance to be seen at dental. Maybe its just a logistical consideration?

Don't retirees get full access to dental from civilian providers, like with Tricare Remote?

Just like active duty dependents, TriCare doesn't cover dental needs. You have to have other coverage.

TriCare doesn't cover dental for retirees.

Why not? Ask Congress and the lobbiests who wrote the laws.
Back from the bit bucket. Somebody flushed the buffers on me, though . . ..

I just started Tricare dental for retires, 70$ a month for me and wife. You have to wait a year for any major work.

Not bad for being 2 1/2 years late in responding.
