    New Air Force Portal

I enjoy it. It is nice and flashy, which means it probably cost the government a lot of money. Air Force Portal provides a service in the war on terrorism that the 50,000 people being discharged simply cannot. I am glad they went with a new website.

Yeah, it ranks right up there with the several new AF commercials I've been seeing on TV at the same time they are trying to get rid of thousands. Pure genius.

I hear that, by law, the services are required to recruit 30K a year or something like that.

The new AF Portal looks great. It has all the functionality and aesthetic appeal that a website from 2004 should offer.

Goes along well with the version of Internet Explorer they force us to use.

Perfect, it will finally work on my out-of-date browser the AF insists I still use...

I chuckle every time I open a .mil website and get the "Warning, do not trust this page" for certificate errors, expirations, etc.

And let's not forget that one must click the "broken piece of paper" symbol near the "Reload" symbol so that you can view websites in "Compatability Mode."

    Re: New Air Force Portal

Just checked it out....It's like trying to find something in your room after someone else went in and cleaned/rearranged it for you, or better yet when Apple released iTunes 11....I can't find anything now!

Leave it to the AF to change something simply for the sake of change. Of course, it'll end up on someone's OPR or EPR and they'll make up some ridiculous number of man-hours saved by streamlining the site when in fact it's now actually taking folks longer to navigate it.
