    They are at it again.

:angryfire: The wonderful group of people known as the "Defense Business Board" is recommending radical pay and retirement changes for active duty military personnel. Granted, this is nothing new. However, there seems to be more sympathetic ears each and every year. :angryfire:

Here's an older article on their purpose: http://www.motherjones.com/politics/...-street?page=1

And here is the official list of the members: http://dbb.defense.gov/Members.aspx

After reading several bios, I would like to know what their compensation levels are. I would think that it would probably be more than the people they target in their policies.

It's only going to get worse. I expect that from this point onward we will have to fight tooth and nail to save our benefits, because there is a perfect storm brewing out there. The writing was put on the wall and the kind of cuts to our benefits that they are talking about most likely will come to pass at some point in the future. It really is a reflection of our government showing their true colors. This has nothing to do with loyalty to the troops. It is, and always was, about the MONEY. It is all about the MONEY.

This sentence in the last paragraph,
Over the years, the board has recommended a series of "cost-saving" measures that would channel large amounts of money to private-sector businesses.
, along with the boards bios tell you all you need to know about the motivation of their recommendations. They are all big business, banking, investment people that would personally benefit from the billions of dollars that would be pumped into their business.

Well I guess we can all go on welfare.....that aint gonna get cut.
The state tends to expand in proportion to its means of existence and to live beyond its means, and these are, in the last analysis, nothing but the substance of the people. Woe to the people that cannot limit the sphere of action of the state! Freedom, private enterprise, wealth, happiness, independence, personal dignity, all vanish. - Frederic Bastiat

You might want to find something other than Mother Jones to read, when educating yourself on this or any other topic.

And as usual, you have have an article in the Navy Times showing top military brass testifying at Capital Hill... "http://www.navytimes.com/article/20140116/NEWS/301160021/DoD-expects-recruiting-slow-down-economy-speeds-up DoD expects recruiting to slow down as economy speeds up.

I never cease to be amazed. One last thing. I am sure the people testifying in that picture are encouraging their children to enlist in the military.

It must be real nice to get elected to the board of a company, help drive it into the ground, then walk away with a high six or 7 figure separation package after only 5 or 6 years. I would never know. :closed_2

Actually, the main story was published this week in the Navy Times.
