Assignment cancelled due to conflict with servicemember?

Can a commander cancel an assignment because it can pose a personal conflict with a servicemember?

For instance, a servicemember who admitted to a gambling problem, can his commander cancel the assignment to NV, NJ, or Dover? (Why mention Dover? Dover Downs casino is literally a few minutes drive from the base)

Would a recent graduate of ADAPT or AA still get his/her assignment to Germany, Belgium, or Korea cancelled knowing these countries are have a high drinking rate?

Or what about a servicemember that was caught with pot, but still allowed to stay in. Can he/she get their assignment to Washington or Colorado cancelled?

I am not sure if the CC can do it soley for the reason he doesn't think the Amn is a good fit, but I guess its possible. They do sign the assignment rip afterall. In the case above, a gambling problem, the CC could always do one of several things that would cancel the assignment. Referral EPR, open a control roster, or admin hold. I believe any of the three would accomplish the goal.

So you are asking if a Commander can save an Airman from themselves? My question is why WOULD they? If they want to gamble, there are places EVERYWHERE to gamble, if they want to drink, go to damn near any store.... Smoke pot? I could probably get you some.... If they don't have self control, location isn't going to change that.

I haven't seen a base in the last 15 years that doesn't have an Indian Casino within 30 minutes.
