Air Force to dismiss anyone found to have committed sexual misconduct

KAISERSLAUTERN, Germany — Airmen who commit any type of sexual misconduct, whether groping a co-worker or rape, face dismissal from the service under a tough new Air Force policy aimed at eliminating such behavior from the ranks.

The new guidance, which took effect July 3, requires commanders to initiate separation action for any officer or enlisted airman found to have committed or attempted to commit a range of sexual offenses.

The measure is among several new Air Force policies dealing with cases of sexual assault and related misconduct.

Airmen in a position of trust found to have engaged in an unprofessional relationship — such as dating a potential recruit or military trainee — are also now subject to mandatory administrative discharge.
Was this already addresses here? I could not find a story about it even though this policy took effect July 3rd.

Should this be the way this is handled?

I think we talked about it a little bit here.

But I don't think the actual policy was available or discussed.

I tend to agree, if you admit or are found guilty, you should be discharged regardless of whatever other action is taken.

So, just to be safe, it's best to not take the chance of hitting on anyone at anytime. Unless, of course, you're gay. Then you'll get a free pass.

Well, I don't know that you can't socialize, but assault is not socializing. So yeah, probably better if you don't hit anyone.

Is it really that difficult for some people to find a date/boo/booty call/ friend with b's/ spouse or whatever that is not military?!
Antes de que vengas a juzgarme por que escribo el inglés con errores te pregunto: Cuantos idiomas tu hablas?! Solo uno? Y vienes a juzgar mi inteligencia?! Por favor mirate en el espejo y veras en él reflejo la imagen clara de la estupidez...

Sexual assault is not about finding a "date"...it's about power and violence. I expect the policy will be applied whether the victim of the assault is military or civilian. I made it clear to my troops that ANY conduct that even might be misconstrued would not be tolerated, period. From where I stand, its about time big blue caught up.

And therein lies part of the problem, "good game" is about power, if you don't see that, I can't explain it to you.
