My name is Alex. I am currently an incoming 4th year undergraduate student at UC San Diego majoring in Nanoengineering (focusing on material science) and minoring in Japanese studies. I have recently taken interest in becoming a USAF officer soon after graduation. I have already done a good amount of research on how to become an officer and what it entails, and the benefits sound pretty awesome to me. And it sounds like it would build a really good, healthy lifestyle too. My main concern though is that I may not be competitive enough as a candidate. I heard that becoming an officer is actually quite competitive.

So I'd like to ask, what exactly are recruiters looking for when it comes to new officers besides the minimum requirements (i.e. B.S. degree, AFOQT)?
If any of you guys have any advice on how to become a more competitive candidate, I would greatly appreciate it!
