Littoral Combat Ship Costing U.S. $37 Billion Lack Firepower, Navy Told

Seems that if the Navy's procurement and shipbuilding process was working correctly this would never be an issue. It is highly unusual for a Naval officer divert from the party line. The Navy needs more officers to speak truth to power. Being a yes man never is good for the organization. It only makes for an ineffective, inefficient and corrupt service.

:clock Good post there 'Shipmate'; you left out the part of a 'Somali pirate rowboat' with a RPG would be enough for it to high tail it outta that combat zone. Hope those 'Skippers' have plenty of 'brown trousers' on board. :behindsofa

Nobody thought they might need more firepower on a ship designed to go close to shore? Who was in the room when they signed the contract? Anybody with (SW) at the end of their rate? That's the Surface Warfare designation, Bob.

:spy And as we type; "Naval R&D's 37 Admirals are 'feverishly' working on a 'new hot air gun' using recycled hot air from DC leadership and critics;reportedly that half of it is coming from a 'MTF Varmint' referring to 'itself' as a 'Robot Chicken'!!" :twitch :shocked
