With all the talk about Sanctuary cities in the news, what is your opinion on them.

Since the feds threatened to withhold federal funds to all states/cities that refused to implement the drinking age of 21 mandated by congress, should states who allow sanctuary cities ALSO have federal funds?

Should any governor who allows a city in his/her state, or a Mayor who votes to MAKE his city/town a Sanctuary city be arrested for violating the law and breaking his oath of office?

Rainmaker's opinion is that There is simply no excuse for the Government's refusal to enforce the laws.

Deporting of illegal Aliens and securing the border would've gone a long way toward improving wages, reducing housing costs, and saving the states Billions on welfare, Medical, Schooling and Policing of these criminals.

Unfortunately, that is not going to happen Because, Corporate Profits will suffer. And by now it should be obvious that anybody in Either Party that tells you that it will change, is simply Lying to you. Because, America has been sold down the river by Internal enemies who've allowed this to happen and the tens of thousands of Citizens that are victimized by these invaders every year, (like the pretty young white lady in San Fransicko) are just collateral damage.

These disgusting, unpatriotic do-gooders who support sanctuary cities have no respect for the US Constitution, no respect for US sovereignty, and if given the power, would gladly dissolve this country in favor of a one-world, UN led government. They truly believe a socialistic utopia can be achieved, in that prosperity can only be reached through the complete redistribution of wealth, with full dependence on government, vice creating an environment where NEW wealth can be created. Now, let me wipe my vomit off of my keyboard.

You seem to forget one thing State and local government have no legal obligation to enforce federal laws, only their own. Refusing to enforce federal law is perfectly legal, that doing so also dumb is another issue. they have to protect Constitutional rights but there is nothing that says the have to enforce any other federal laws. That is one of the consequences of the US being a federal republic and of States rights,

Congress could impose a penalty to states that refuse to actively assist the feds, but getting the votes for that would be hard since many Conservatives would be against the Federal encroachment into the States business. Plus you would probably need a veto proof majority,

So every state that got badgered to upgrade the drinking age to 21, were in the right and the fed govt was in the wrong when they told them "all federal funds will get withheld" till you comply?

The states did not "get it wrong', many openly stated they gave in because it simply was not worth the cost. But even the drinking age law was not but forcing states to enforce federal law.

How was it NOT states being forced, when the fed says "You ain't getting anything from us till you comply"? Isn't that effectively economic blackmail?
