Over the past few days, both CNN and fox have had stories on both families saying that a govt official (some stories i saw online said it was a military offical working for Obama's security staff) if they paid the ransom to get their son's free from ISIS, they could have been prosecuted.

On the GOPUSA site, i am in a discussion with some others there about this situation in that while i DO see the families side, in that parents always try to do right by their kids, i still see the govt's side in that paying up would be a crime.
BUT that said, have not many merchant companies paid ransom for boats snagged by Al Shabbab off the Somali coast? Did not the president himself trade 5 prisoners for 1? So where is the line drawn?

I think it would be hard to quantify the publicity and propaganda that the two beheadings have brought ISIS.

In other words, both journalists were doomed, and so are others.
