Creationist Ken Ham Says Aliens Will Go To Hell So Let's Stop Looking For Them

Creationist Ken Ham, who recently debated Bill Nye the Science Guy over the origins of the universe, is calling for an end to the search for extraterrestrial life because aliens probably don't exist -- and if they do, they're going to Hell anyway.

"You see, the Bible makes it clear that Adam’s sin affected the whole universe," Ham wrote on his blog on Sunday. "This means that any aliens would also be affected by Adam’s sin, but because they are not Adam’s descendants, they can’t have salvation."

The post was driven in part by NASA experts saying that they expect to find evidence of alien life within the next 20 years.

"It's highly improbable in the limitless vastness of the universe that we humans stand alone," NASA administrator Charles Bolden said last week.

But Ham, president and CEO of Answers in Genesis and the Creation Museum in Petersburg, Ky., said we probably are alone. He wrote "earth was specially created," and the entire hunt for extraterrestrials is "really driven by man’s rebellion against God in a desperate attempt to supposedly prove evolution!"

Discuss... It's ridiculous and hypothetical. But let's play the hypothetical game.

Let's assume there is a God. Let's assume there are aliens. It would be fair to say that the aliens would also have their own Adam and Eve and that Jesus would have also saved them.

What annoys me to no ends is people who claim that if it isn't in the bible then it couldn't have occurred anywhere at any time.

Combined with how selfish/self centered it is, to think that in this vast universe, we are the only sentient life out there with our own god.

Hypothetically, if there is a God and he created everything as is believed by many than I think it's very possible that, even if there are other people out there, we have the same God. I think that, in this situation, that the selfish/self centered thing in the OP is that anyone who believes in God would believe that he would create others and not allow them to be saved.

Why?

On our own planet, we have had multiple pantheons of gods, with multiple varieties of rewards (and punishments) in the afterlife.

Why would anyone assume that aliens would have the same concept of afterlife punishment as their own religion?

Lack of intelligent thought is not unique to anybody in our society, but it seems to concentrate in certain social groups.

Even evolutionist are self centered/selfish and arrogant to believe we have evolved past natures control. We ignore every bit of natural selection and natural constraints. Hell, we believe we control nature itself with global warming. We believe that women are equal in every way as men, yet we dont see that in any other mammals on Earth. We believe the weak should thrive and the strong be stiffled. We believe that children have an equal say in society as the adaults with wisdom and experience have. We dont believe is punishing the children when they disobey their elders. I think we should be finding true sentient life on Earth before we look anywhere else.

That's why, in this hypothetical, I'm making an assumption that the God of Abraham is the one God, as it relates to the OP.

I like the line from the movie Contact when young Ellie asks her father if there are other people on other planets. His reply was "I don't know, Sparks. But I guess I'd say if it is just us... seems like an awful waste of space."

People like Ken Ham who make comments like he did are really expressing their fears that they could be wrong. Why would "God" create the Earth and other planets in our Solar System as well as the millions of galaxies and stars but only populate the Earth with "his" children? As I said, it's fear on his part because if there are aliens then that means Earth wasn't "specially created" thereby making mankind not so special.

Ham also contends if aliens go exist then even Jesus can't save them because only descendents of Adam can be saved. Yet, wouldn't the word of "God" through the teachings of Jesus be just as applicable to aliens since "God" also created them. Again, this is about people like Ham trying to make themselves feel they are "special." It's sad that they have so little self-esteem that they have to create a narrative that puts them above all others, both human and alien.

If we find "alien" life on other planets, it will be most likely only sentient life...no humans or advanced civilizations as we love to fantasize about. UFO activity, crop circles, abductions, etc are all from inter-dimensional beings, not extra-terrestrial. I highly suspect that they're demons masquerading as our "space brothers", given the fact that everything is done so secretively (i.e. occult). So if someone were to take this question seriously, I would say that it answers itself without any further need for discussion.

I' honestly love to see aliens show up, just to see what the response would be from people like this HAM person.

I think there is no doubt that humans dominate the planet.

Well, I did read a very compelling paper once about how the micro-organisms are really in charge here...we are way outnumbered.

Hell, we believe we control nature itself with global warming.

Affect, not control.

We believe that women are equal in every way as men, yet we dont see that in any other mammals on Earth. We believe the weak should thrive and the strong be stiffled.

There are also some interesting thoughts on how humans are devolving..."survival of the weakest"...i.e. how our least fit (poor, uneducated, weak) tend to have more children than out most fit (educated, strong)

That's a good one.

It becomes exceedingly difficult to believe we are alone in the universe when you start to comprehend how vast this place is.

Same sort of mindset that insisted the world was flat because of their literal interpretation of the Bible.

Great book, good movie.

When we brought our daughter back from China and got her into her pediatrician, we asked about allergies for things like peanuts/nuts, milk (lactose), cats & dogs etc. Our doctor told us that the vast majority of kids from underdeveloped countries (not that China is underdeveloped ... but she was born in a very poor / agricultural area) do not have the same allergies / sensitivities you tend to see in U.S. or other 'Western' kids, that people in those cultures generally succumb to those sensitivities etc. because there is not the same level of accommodation that we make here.

One thing I did see that is similar to how farming families used to have several children to work on the farm is still the methodology in rural China (One Child Policy be damned I guess) and now middle class families here and abroad have migrated to having few (sometimes no) children.

That is a good point. The more 'cultured' society seems, the more diseases, allergies, sensitivities and such we seem to have. Maybe if we stopped disinfecting, sanitizing and generally wanting everything so damn germ free, and got back to how we used to, where kids played in the mud etc, people would grow up generating antibodies for this crap.

With how some coaches at schools are these days, that sounds like a comment they would make.

I think the point was, we may have more of those diseases because we have learned to live with them, rather than die from them.

Yes...200 years there were way less cancers...because the life expectancy was 45 and people died of TB, smallpox or typhoid fever, not cancer.

We have learned to survive those diseases and now battle heart disease due to our diets. Gotta love the irony.
