I'm not sure how many people that look at the boards will care about this but Nature magazine reported recently that a team of scientists have gotten matching calculations on behavior of a black hole using a 10 dimension and 1 dimension universe model. More simply, they used mathematics of string theory to verify that a "simple universe" can predict a complex one.

The article: http://www.nature.com/news/simulations-back-up-theory-that-universe-is-a-hologram-1.14328

Of course, neither of these theoretic universes is similar to ours. That's why the title says "sort of". The universe, of course, isn't actually a hologram except in the abstract. What this means is that someone someday may be able to create a simple lower dimensional model which accurately predicts both quantum and relativity actions/reactions of our universe.

I've figured it out - you're really Sheldon from the Big Bang Theory.
