Hey Chicken...all is quiet here at the job. Half of the office is enjoying our unpaid leave benefit (furlough) while the rest of us are humping and anticipating our unpaid leave benefit on Monday. As you can imagine, unit morale is at an all time high! :grumpy:

Friday's Joke:
Two young boys walk into a pharmacy one day, pick out a box of Tampax and proceed to the checkout counter.

The man at the counter asks the older boy, "Son, how old are you?"

"Eight," the boy replies.

The man continues, "Do you know what these are used for?

"Not exactly," the boy says. "But they aren't for me. They're my brother – he's four. We saw on TV that if you use these you would be able to swim and ride a bike. Right now he can't do either one."

It is pretty quiet around here too. I took this picture of our parking lot earlier this morning.

Today is my 18-year mark. Left for BMT on 12 July, 1995. 2 years to go!

I am taking another Marine out tonight to go fishing. I took him under my wing, to get him into the Marine Corps League Detachment out here, so I thought, why not? He has to get used to small town living, right?

This guy is from New Jersey, and he is definitely of Italian extraction.

So I asked him if he wanted some worms or some minnows, or some shad to bait our hooks with.

He had never fished before he came out here, about 8 months ago. He has fished with another guy, from a boat a couple of times, out here.

So, anyhow, when I asked him which type of bait that he would prefer to use, he asked me, "Do we need that stuff?"

I always stick up for Marines, but I had to laugh at this question. The only answer I could think up was, "Uh, duuuuude. The fish out here, for some reason, don't bite on bare hooks."

He mumbled something about how he was gonna make me sleep with da fishes.

I think, that for once, I am not going fishing without packing, tonight.
