Wow. Saw it last night in the British newspaper the guardian, and was reported on at lunch on CNN. The NSA got a "fizso" warrant (top secret supposedly, so no reporting to the people by verizon that a warrant was ever issued or that your information is being handed over) to get ALL phone calls meta data, whether there is probable cause or not.. and apprently cause of the Patriot act its ALL OK..

1984?? Or fully ok?

Apparently they were data mining from at least nine different company's servers too:

I just love how the President said in his press conference in CA, that if the people don't trust the govt, we have problems.. Well.. guess we have problems!
We don't have 'problems'; it's the Government that creates and causes them!

Guess we all had better be very very careful about what we post and whom we call. Some who post on this form need to be extra careful IMO.

Always,

lots of emails and AF Portal pop ups warning not to look at the list on gov't computers, as you may stumble on to something classified.

Smsgt,
Sorry, but as someone new perusing the threads, I saw one where you complained about language and nonsense. Low and behold I come upon this thread about Verizon and find this offensive statement. I do not understand how it is okay when you do it. Please explain, maybe I am missing the humor.

This is a reference to another thread... I have no problems with language (as evidenced by the post you're referencing) and the nonsense I'm refering to was the 2 pages of off-topic rambling BS in the middle of a thread.

Welcome n00b! :usa
Enjoy catching up on all the threads; you'll figure out who's who pretty quickly. Look forward to seeing you around the board!

Look on the bright side. If you ever forget any passwords or lose any phone book contacts, just ask the NSA. If you poke and prod just a little more, they might even have your credit card numbers handy.

The Director of National Intelligence said he was "confused" when he lied to Congress earlier this year.... If that doesn't instill confidence, what does?

So either they are lying, incompetant or outright stupid. Does not instill any confidence.
