So apparently some Marine sergeant at Pendleton got rear-ended in his car - very minor accident. And went absolutely apeshit on the other driver. Video can be watched here.

http://www.theblaze.com/stories/2013/04/03/marine-absolutely-loses-it-during-road-rage-incident-caught-on-tape-get-the-fk-out-of-your-truck/

Now, allegedly, he has PTSD.

No fuck that. Maybe you have PTSD. Maybe you don't. Either way, you're still a total fucking prick.

The Corps is full of these morons who fly off the handle for absolutely no reason, then when they get called out on it, they pull the "I had buddies die in combat blah blah blah". A lot of us have had buddies die in combat. You're not special. Active duty sucks enough without having a pretentious piece of shit screaming at you and threatening you for no reason. Go fuck yourself.

/rant off.

Gotta agree with you Joe. It is not an excuse at all. To use PTSD or combat experience as a excuse to act like an rabid animal minimizes the condition for those that are actually suffering. On another note, the driver of the truck certainly did not appear traumatized. If he was on the floorboard cowering in the fetal position, maybe. But he was just sitting there acting very non-impressed with the antics of the marine. Sounds like someone is looking to make the situation worse because of the alleged brake checking that was going on prior to the accident, which is also a crappy thing to do.

His outward appearance doesn't necessarily reflect what was going on in his head at the time... he could have been scared shitless.

And honestly - the driver's reaction was 100% correct in my book. Don't show fear or emotion, don't get out of the car and confront the lunatic - just look forward and wait for some cops to show up and put "Sergeant" Fucktard in cuffs.

Yea, and if the guy got out of his car (or dragged out) and got beat up, PTSD isn't going to be a free pass with the judge either.

That Marine could easily have gotten his ass shot in my town for that.

If that guy and me had gone outside the wire... only one of us would have come back. And no, that's not me "posing" - I'm five foot nine and 140 - if you're a 200 pound meathead and I believe you are going to kill or seriously injure me, don't think for one moment your uniform and rank is going to protect you from me shooting you.

I would be interested to see some law enforcement guidance on how to respond to a situation like that. Getting out of the car pretty much guarantees a physical confrontation. Staying in the car is probably the best approach I think. Lunatic could smash the window out... but you could still fight and push him out. I have a friend with a collapsable nightstick in his door pocket - which is ideal for bashing fingers and forearms. Mace is another good non-lethal option.

Of course there's folks who would immediately suggest concealed carry. Which is all fine and good - but if you use it and kill him... then you'd have to justify yourself. I think if the sergeant had been maced in the face, the video would be more than sufficient evidence to justify doing that.

As if I didn't already have enough negative stereotypes to deal with already, I can thank Sergeant Slapnuts for perpetuating the stereotype of the ill-tempered and maladjusted basket case with PTSD.

Wait a sec; my avatar probably isn't helping. :D

Looking through all the comments on the Terminal Lance page... all these asshats defending him. It really seems like douchehammers like him are the accepted norm in a large segment of the Corps... life is way too damn short for that.

It is truly sad but much of the active Army and Marine Corps look to these clowns as BAMFs. They are in fact just assholes. Maybe the guy does have PTSD, I don't know. That's not a get out of jail free card. Still needs to face the consequences. If he truly is that unstable maybe he needs an inpatient program.

The AF has a more coddling mindset. Ask them why, if they did something to offend them, and apologize for being in his bumpers way.

Joe, I am with you on this one.

PTSD or not, bad behavior is bad behavior. Get the guy help. If he has PTSD so badly that he is incapable of controlling his behavior in such a situation, what does that say to his likely behavior under greater stress. Given that, is he still leading Marines?

It is one thing to empathize with what is causing the behavior it is quite another to excuse and therefore condone the behavior in the process.

If his PTSD is so bad that he can't handle a minor traffic accident, then the dude doesn't need to be driving (or in a car for that matter). I know people with PTSD and this isn't how they act when met by small incidences. This guy is just an asshat. He would have acted the same exact way regardless of his mental faculties due to war.

I have two friends, one a Army veteran of Vietnam who was 25th ID during '67- '68, and the other a Marine scout/sniper during Desert Shield/Storm. Both of these guys have been diagnosed with severe PTSD. Both of these guys surround themselves with friends who wouldn't let a situation such as this occur.

We don't know what happened, the guy that hit him probably was driving like a maniac for all we know. I would start yelling too if someone rear ended me because they were not paying attention.

Actually, the guy probably was driving aggressively and did something that could have gotten people injured or killed. I don't think the Marine was out of line and he didn't really do anything to cause him physical harm. He is still the victim of the accident. If the other guy can't take a few cuss words or some screaming then... I don't know what to say, he's a p***y. Those calling for the Marine to get kicked out or reprimanded are out of line.

I would hope you wouldn't act in such an unbecoming and unprofessional manner.

In California, the driver who hits the other vehicle is automatically at fault. The Marine would have been fine if he hadn't decided to behave like an immature five year old who needs a time out.

I think "professionalism" goes out the door the minute a douche bag crashes that 3-ton widow maker into me. If someone almost killed me because of their stupidity you can bet your ass I would want to kick the crap out of them. Especially if the people I care about were in the car with me! The other driver would have never been at fault if he would have been paying attention and driving correctly. Come on now, what has the potential to hurt someone more? The Marine's cussing /yelling or the 3-ton vehicle the douche bag was driving?

First off, he was doing a bit more than yelling - he was throwing a full fledged psychotic fit, kicking the door, and beating the side window... not to mention screaming "bitchwhorecunt" at the disabled female who WASN'T EVEN DRIVING.

We don't know the circumstances of the accident, but legally, the Marine was probably in the right. Key word WAS in the right... until he decided to throw a temper tantrum like a five year old.

This is the problem with the Corps... wildly inappropriate behavior is seen as "cool" and "badass". Notice how he immediately escalated his hissy fit once his little buddies showed up. I'll bet if they told him to stop being a whiney drama queen pussy he would have quit that shit real fast.

If the guy can handle a fender bender without acting like a bitch maybe he shouldn't be a Marine or driving. He's idiot. I would've loved to see that kid get out of the "3 ton widow maker" and destroy that meat head but he did the right thing.

The marine was douche bag. The other driver got cut off by the head then slammed on the breaks. Yea I've been rear ended before with my kids in the car. Yea i was pissed but that doesnt help the situation. He's a class A asshole.

What's great is that if this incident hadn't been recorded... his stupidity would have been covered up and continued. I'll bet his command has had problems with his childish nonsense before, but has denied and covered it up every time. The video going up on youtube embarrassed them into action.

Yea he can't hide from this one. I like the other Marine showing and telling him to back off. There is hope for the corps. Just not that asshat.

This is what happens when the Corps decided to appeal to the "MMA/UFC" in my own opinion.
