Until people like you stop referring to them as lesbian weddings and start referring to them as just weddings, we will never have equality.

I don't think anyone will.

Apart from The Vatican, I can't think of any place I would call a Christian country. There is plenty of Christianity in this country but this is not a Christian country in the way that Saudi Arabia is a Muslim country.

Nice effort but no one here is going to give you a meaningful response.

Your opinion. I'm not the one trying to legislate the fuck out of them.

You mean prejudice goes away by ignoring differences among us? By non-acknowledgement of someone's homosexuality, and therefore ignoring their struggles, we achieve equality?

As a heterosexual, I know that it would benefit me at the expense of homosexuals to think this way.

Smugness? Intolerance? Ignorance? Yeah, I'd have to go with the beatific, willful ignorance. No, the sun is not the center of the universe! No, Earth is not older than 6,000 years! Dinosaur fossils were placed by God to test our faith! If man descended from monkeys, why are there still monkeys?! Carbon 14 dating and tree rings and ice cores are ... are ... I don't understand! I can't hear you ! I'm not listening. La la la la la la la la ... still not listening ... la la la la ...

So the fact that God is mentioned on pretty much everything used when this country was founded, as well as on our currency, public buildings (until the ACLU was founded), and is one of the major foundations to the basis to which it seems one of the two major political parties acts on is all coincidence? Not to mention current and past laws about marriage, adultery, prohibition, dry counties, and on and on and on. Christianity is infused in to everything this country was built on and for some, the only way it should be. Look at all the drama over saying "One nation under God" or "so help me God."

Think you missed the mark with this reply...

Our country did not start that way. Those things were added later on down the road. Our currency did not always have god on it, nor did the pledge. As christianity became more dominate things started changing towards what they wanted.

My bad... you're right it was added to coins in 1864.

I know it is just some random info from the internet, so I took it for what it's worth, but this page makes your point clear and I'll admit to being wrong about the beginning of the country.

No, you are correct, it has only been about 150 years or so, but much worse was done in the name of Christianity.

What's funny is that my comments were actually comments that would come from the other side, but since I made them they were disputed by the other side. Amazing how that works.

Fun fact: "In God we trust" didn't become the official motto of the United States until 1956.

What was the original motto that the founding fathers used? "E pluribus unum"

OUT OF MANY, ONE.

The founding fathers were a bunch of filthy commies!

The Printing Press - originally used to print the Gutenburg Bible, however it quickly was subverted to distribute mass forms of entertainment and copious amounts of porn. Just like the dirty mag you found as a kid in the city park, left by the Porn Fairy.

The television - originally envisioned for another form of mass communication, however it was quickly subverted into scrambled porn channels when your dad finally got cable television back in the 1980's. Just like the times you'd stay up all night watching it in hopes of getting a clear shot of two people doing the nasty, even if it were just a few seconds at a time.

The computer - originally a computing device back in the 1940's, however it was quickly subverted with the invention of video games and then the advent of the internet. Just like the times you would play Leisure Suit Larry as a teen at your friend's house, because his parents didn't care, and now currently like the times you fap off to monkey-on-midget porn.

Uhh... no. No liberal has ever said that. In fact that is a Conservative mantra - to ignore differences in order to enforce the current unfair social order... so I did sense you were attempting to make a joke, but was a bit confused because it seemed like you were making a joke against yourself.

Flaming liberals only have a sense of humor when it comes to Neo-Conservatives.

Fixed it for you. Most of us don't object to traditional Conservatives of the William Buckley variety. We just aren't fans of the Ayn Rand Worshipping Homo-erotic Evangelical Social Darwinist Angry Robot Cult that seems to have taken over the Right.

As a matter of fact I am reading all of Ayn Rand's books right now. Started off with the short essays, now plunging into the bizarre right wing fantasy of Fountainhead.

Continue to work their tax exempted orgs to feed the 3rd world children we see on TV pleads with flies in their noses and eyes so they may grow and start the cycle again and give our govt a chance to import some (lots) over to our country, being we don't have enough problems and places to spend the collected taxes.

I love the fact that you still think I am 100% down party lines with everything. I love pointing out peoples differences. I want everyone around me to know that I am better than them because I'm a middle-aged, straight, white Christian male.
