Could be fake but I wouldn't put it past some one out in the great big blue AF to come up with some of this bullshit.

That's way to close to White History and is therefor unacceptable on all levels.

Another thing that's puzzling: the reference to the Holocaust.

Why do we have a Holocaust Museum in Washington? The United States had nothing to do with it.

Why is Holocaust remembrance a part of diversity day? In fact .. uh .. why do we need diversity day?

In the 1960s weren't we fighting for everyone to be treated equally so no one would care what group you belonged to?

European heritage? European heritage?

If you break it down by nationality, you've got things like St Patrick's Day and Oktoberfest.

I'm 1/4 WASP and 1/4 German. I am kinda disappointed that American WASPs tend not to associate with England much.

Are you expected to be a member of the named minority group in order to participate in the committee?

Legally, they can't discriminate. However, just like the race-based awards (i.e., Blacks in Gov Awards [BIG]) that are for "anyone," they were created with the INTENT to recognize people of that specific race/gender, etc.

Someday this great big melting pot will come together and form a country of likeminded individuals.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA. Sorry, had to laugh. More divided now than ever before.

Yeah, it always amuses me to read the instructions for those race-based awards. The award is open to people from any race...yet you HAVE to submit a photograph with the package for almost all of them.

Hmmm, I wonder why???

You know, at my place these days/months are not emphasized at all. It's pretty nice. It used to be just another thing that I was expected to show my face at... eat some fried chicken, lumpia, tacos, maize, whatever. Had a guy in my unit once who was the biggest POS Airman but was the best black guy we had, that ended up winning some ridiculous civilian african something or other. Won at least at the MAJCOM if not AF. I've have never submitted anyone for one of those awards.

I fully support any diversity day that includes free food. Especially Asian-Pacific Islander month. Lumpia is amazing.

I know this is an old thread but a few years ago, our WG Decided that the AMU's did not reflect the diversity of the force so they made swaps. They said it was to balance out experience but you could see right thru it.

Yep...not "diverse" enough usually means not enough black people. Do the AMUs now have an equal number of black people to meet mission requirements?

Wars are won by strength. Diversity is a strength.

In line with today's fucked-up ideologies and political-correctness slant, the Air Force has taken "diversity" and turned it from a strength to be respected into a social engineering tool to be despised. Diversity has been weakened into numbers on a PowerPoint and quotas to be met.

Diversity as old, old wooden ship that was used during the Civil War era is a much better version than the "diversity" that most try to push.
